Does anybody have experience with the Directory theme from Templatic (#1)? The features look amazing however the reviews online are not very positive. Would love to get some advise if this is a solid theme’s or something to stay away from? Thanks. JT

    • Bhavesh Radadiya

      Hello JT,

Directory theme being big, it also has many add-ons, modules and child themes. And then comes third party plugins which may conflict sometime with some of our functionality if its not coded the standard way. Then hosting companies (for example godaddy) doesn’t always play nice with some standard PHP features and finally many times there are personal opinion like “yes, I know the feature is built like this but I expect it to work like this”.

Not to say our products are always 100% perfect but we are open to make any improvements or fixes necessary. Can’t bend our software per people’s will though.

Feel free to get in touch (motaz at templatic dot com) and we would love to assist you in anyway we can. And yes, if you are not satisfied in anyway, just give us reference to this ticket and we will process 100% refund, no questions asked.

I am a current user and despite exhaustive tweaking and even changing hosts I continue to get pathetic load speeds (I use their Spotfinder child theme, also in the list). Also be ready to invest a massive amount of time working your way around problems. I am on the lookout to find a better alternative. Some of the plugins are also sub-par and slow the load speed of the site even more. Great ideas and and lovely interface but I am now ready to move on because to me load speed is a fundamental they just haven’t gotten right. An ok product but certainly not one I will easily consider using again.

      • Sam Rizzi

Hi Ramafuta, have you moved on with another theme or solution? Let me know.

  • RedNovember

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a directory theme that will allow to limit the amount of information shown on a listing, until a payment is made? I want just a few fields visible, and then the full listing after payment.

    • Sam Rizzi

Hi where you able to find a theme that let you limit the info until payment is made?

    • forget_aboutit

GeoDirectory does, I’m wondering why none of their products is listed here, they may not be the best looking one, but feature wise it’s definitely the best…

  • NicTesla

which of these themes can be used without any mapping. I need a directory for online businesses with no physical address.

  • Hi Chris! You are correct, some themes are outdated or retired. I will go through all of them again and remove those that are not available anymore. Thanks for letting us know and for providing the link. 🙂

    • Chris Mathews

Perfect! Thank you so much for considering and seriously looking forward to see some fresh directory themes that your team can hand-pick for newbies like us.

  • RexRiley

These lists are largely worthless because they aren’t objective – talking about ‘joyful’ themes is a waste. How about instead, feature comparisons and discussion about features that might be missing? Most of these lists are just clickbait.

    • Sabina Ionescu

Hey, looks like you’re new to our blog, welcome! The theme lists are actually one of our most visited articles, they feature popular, up-to-date themes from a niche. And we often go into deeper analysis, here’s an example on the Divi vs Avada vs X theme https://www.codeinwp.com/blog/divi-vs-avada-vs-x-theme/ You can check our blog for more in-depth reviews on almost everything WordPress: hosting, plugins, various tools.
